In relation to our modern way of life, this ancient insight from the Greek philosopher is more relevant than ever. On average, Austrians move six times during their lives, and nearly 10 percent move every year. However, even without changing homes, life circumstances change: children arrive or leave the household, physical abilities change, and personal preferences are in constant flux. All of this naturally impacts the use of furniture.
Our experience with various customers over the years has shown us at Stammdesign how adaptable furniture needs to be to users' behaviors. A table from Stammdesign is, for many of our clients, a purchase "for life." Due to its indestructible construction, timeless design, and uniqueness, it becomes a long-term companion. It often stands at the heart of family life, "collecting" experiences, emotions, and stories over its lifespan, and has, quite literally, a "fixed place" in the home. But what happens when life circumstances change?
The answer: the table grows with you, moves with you, or adapts.
We have designed our products and accompanying service program so that they can be enjoyed for a long time and can be adjusted to new situations as needed. We create custom dining tables that can be continually adapted to your needs.
The simplest case: you're moving and want to take your table with you. Our proven glass rail system allows for easy disassembly and reassembly countless times without the material wearing out or the table becoming unstable. We are happy to assist with this by taking care of the disassembly, transport, and reassembly.
What if the tabletop has worn down over the years and needs some "cosmetic" attention?
In this case, a simple "refreshing" of the tabletop can bring it back to its former glory. The solid wood surface can be sanded and polished almost indefinitely, and the oil coating allows for easy repair of scratches. It’s easy to do yourself, but if you prefer, we are happy to provide this service for you.
The kids have left home, and the table now feels too big for the center of the room?
We offer to adapt the table to the new situation. For example, it can be adjusted to fit a corner of the room. Our assembly team will handle the cutting and ensure that the table will be optimally used for years to come.
Or does the table need to serve a different purpose?
From a cozy dining table to a more dynamic standing table? In this case, the height can be adjusted by inserting taller glass panels to suit your needs.
